“Cheerios” (Side B, Track 31)

Side B – Track 31. The original “Waiiiiit this is still not over…” album outro. From after MM&BRH had officially ended, when Gianni, Pizza, and I were subbing in for Wade Burnham on the Super Sounds of Sunday.

I had to call discmakers at last minute to get it deleted, because when I was checking up on some other licensing stuff, I suddenly remembered that using other people’s unlicensed songs is illegal. Haha. I’m more than sure Bob Dylan/Neko Case would not come after me for a small batch of charity CDs, but the prospect made me a little scared, nonetheless.

*Update: great that I removed it, because youtube blocked it immediately. [laugh-cry emoji]. Technology these days!  Also, it’s a little morbid, but I like it πŸ™‚

Judy Hill & co. “My Babe” Clip!

Exciting news- our live album will officially be a double album!! All sorts of additional music and content TBA.Β Hear hear!

Here–hear a sneak peek of one of my favorite tracks, Judy Hill belting out the Little Walter classic “My Babe”, backed up by Jamey St. Pierre, Ted Hefko, Bob Worth, Nervous Duane, and Rory Collins.Β This was a totally impromptu collaboration, which is why I love it so much… a lot of these folks had just met that night. And this clip is just a tease, so if you want to hear the rest of Ted’s “guitar” solo, you’ll have to get the album πŸ˜‰

Episode 60: Fare Thee Well (For Now!)

Finally posting this from the airport in Toronto, after writing up part of it in a motel somewhere creepy in the middle of nowhere, New York and part in a dilapidated taqueria in the outskirts of Buffalo… (The above photo is pretty much irrelevant; we didn’t take any pics this episode.) Had such a wonderful, wonderful time on the last radio show of this “season”! Pizza Mike, Patrick Cooper, Mack Guillory, and Joey Oakley were at the station playing, talking, lol-ing, sharing memories, etc, it felt like the cozy good ol’ days (before every episode was a maelstorm, in the best of ways.) We got to hear some great original tunes plus a fun group Rolling Stones sing-a-long where we barely ever swore. Gas station food, double-fisting O’Doul’s and Bud Light Lime (I am probably[/hopefully] the only person on the planet deranged enough to do this….), Pizza Mike’s detailed, riveting, and far-too-prompt answer to the question “what are you going to do on Thursdays now?” … A good time was had by all.

Episode 58: WORLD PREMIERE(s)!!

We WORLD PREMIEREd brand new original acoustic live ditties and brand new freshly recorded album tracks. We reprised the WORLD PREMIERE of Musicians, Mentors, and Barroom Heroes by having Marc “Pepe Peligroso” Paradis back on the air. (On the civilian side of the air, that is–he is also a DJ at WHIV.) I think I am capitalizing WORLD PREMIERE to evoke the PHYSICAL CHALLENGE of Rory Danger, who we also spun. What fun!!

Episode 57: Guru Revue

Live music, flowers, chit chat and more! That was one of those episodes that felt like a well-oiled machine…everyone efficiently performed 2 excellent songs, nothing really inconvenient happened, we were cleared out in time for Steve to start on time, I got introduced to some new music, Gianni took these winsome pics (and videos which I will slap on here later) …A+!

ALSO! We are having a Crawfish Boil at Checkpoint Charlie’s on 4/22 (Sunday) to fund the live album! Live music by a bunch of our regular lurkers, crawfish simmered by Brooks Webb & Michael Darby, laundry right adjacent. Cmon out!
