Episode #26: Domenic Fusca Gets Your Soul Right

Domenic playing live at WHIV studios and sharing his insights about HIV awareness. We’ll spin local tracks, stumble around the annals of Checkpoint Charlie’s history, and you’ll be subjected to my musical whims, subliminal massaging, and technological ineptitude.

(Speaking of Checkpoint’s! It is the 20th anniversary of Jim Smith hosting open mic. Be there at 8pm sharp, because from 9-11pm, you’ll pay no attention whatsoever to Jim, your friends, or yourself onstage while you stream this radio show live. You will take no breaks because there are no commercials. This is independent radio, b!tchez$. Once the show comes to a complete stop, you may order another drink from the lovely Angelo.)

Episode #25: There Once Was A Man from St. Louis… (Limericks with Tom McDermott)

Excited to have one of my all-time favorite piano players, Tom McDermott, in the studio for the second half of my show tonight! Tune in 10-11 p.m. to hear music and poetry by an exceptional musicianer and limerician. He once told me in an interview how he’d ended up in New Orleans following the James Booker muse, and (in the spirit of musician mentors) hopefully he’ll relate that tale for y’all as well.

This OffBeat Magazine write-up I did a couple years back (McDermott on Booker etc., another fascinating conversation where only a fraction of it fits under the word count) was one of the many musician interviews I had in mind when I proposed this radio show.*

Episode #23: Robinson’s Dirty Mouth
