Episode #39: Irresistible Saloon Hair

Thank you to Renard Boissiere, Andre Lovett, and Nervous Duane for playing/reading live, big thanks always to Pizza Mike and his plethora of gas station snacks, hurray for Stacey Leigh Bridewell (Stacey Kelly Vintage Styling and her hot rollers for getting me back to my roots being a widowed saloon owner during the last gold rush (“widowed” as in, “hip and unattached”), my fave Brandy Roden for schlepping over from Arabi, and congrats to Corey Collins for working a fourteen hour day then running a great second show! Episode #37: Lady-Party After-Party & the Resting “Ancient Maya Face”

A particularly insane evening at 102.3 WHIV FM! Featuring all sorts of unlikely parties partying together. Old hats, new hands, no dogs, neat tricks, etc. The inception of “Hair on the Air”, I think our greatest gimmick yet, because I have a great face for radio and clearly need my hair in hot rollers while wearing headphones. And of course we heard some great tunes, both live and recorded. Thanks to everyone who hung out and tuned in! Every Sunday night, folks. Episode #36: They Call Him “Bonedaddy”

Mayhem + live original music! We’ve got Lane “They Call Him Bonedaddy” (and his awesome wife Jamie) and Red DeVecca on bass (if you tune in on the regular you’ve heard Red’s not-family-friendly tales of days of yore playing with Ernie K-Doe, Professor Longhair, and Snooks Eaglin…), one of my earliest/favoritist New Orleans friends Isabella Morrison, famous Big Daddy’s lurker and karaoke maestro James Nettles, and all those other people I extracted drunken promises from last night! I believe Nervous Duane said something about reading science fiction excerpts. And this just in, songster Jamey St Pierre and his daughter  And, apparently Shawn Williams is still alive and will be rolling out of bed to join us too! (#BlameWanda.) Plus, you! (Get at me, this is an all-inclusive fiesta, and my car is full of booze.)
