Episode #33: Poaching From The Mint

Lawd! What a crew. I harassed Jamey St Pierre and Ted Hefko to be on the show after an intimate performance with Dick Deluxe at the US Mint, and all these other great folks showed up too. Thank you so much to everyone that played, read, chatted, took pictures, refrained from barking, and lurked around in such a way as to cultivate the warm, wacky atmosphere that makes Sunday nights at 102.3 WHIV FM such a blast. Thank you Josh for these beautiful pics!

“My Babe” – [orig. Little Walter] Group sing-a-long (LIVE) jam spearheaded by Judy Hill, after a behind-the-scenes rehearsal. This show, I tell ya. Such beautiful mayhem! 3ish guitars, a sax, background singers, random percussion, and that special, special Nervous dance.
“Rhythm of My Heart” – Judy’s favorite karaoke song (LIVE) [or. Rod Stewart]. Slightly more… haphazard…? group jam. Also played this recorded earlier. Sorry

We’re a volunteer-powered community radio station that honors independent voices (like all those nuts ya heard last night[, ya heard?]) and maintains existence thanks to the generosity, passion, and (in Nervous’ case) Pure Spite of everyone who participates, from founders to deejays to guest musicians. Do consider becoming a member! Every little bit helps! (whivfm.org. $12/year! 😲)
