I’ve been saying I’m going to do this for awhile, but (festering in Boston, freezing my ass off, doing mindless labor where I can listen to things at the same time) I’ve finally started/nearly finished going through the radio show recordings! (The ones that I have. 50% of them.)
So much nostalgia. So many amazing tracks. Such objectively-witty banter. Myself being painfully awkward. I’ve laughed and cried several times. I really want to thank everyone that came out and made Sunday nights so fun. The music and the banter seems to capture a real moment in New Orleans… I won’t go as far to say “history”, but everything is history I suppose. (“MM&BRH High Lights: The Champagne of History”)
Now that I’ve told too many people about the CD (including a sound master) and a half-dozen folks are confirmed to “appear”, I guess I have to follow through, haha. (Expect a kickstarter when I get back on social media…)
It’s ridiculously difficult to narrow down the tracks to go on 1 f’ing CD (maybe if we raise extra $$$ I can do a double release…) but there is a convenient cluster of folks that participated in the show 7 or more times (including helping me with random afternoon DJ shifts) so my strategy was to offer any of those guys a slot and go from there, choosing the best-recorded tracks that diversify the sound, capture various aspects of the show, and/or include many musicians, cuz I love a good group sing-a-long.
The next time we are on air together, please stab me in the eye every time I giggle into the microphone. Gross.
Stay tuned!
