Episode #27: Windex Pete Isn’t Dead!

Ha! Hahaha. Mashup! Musicians, Mentors, and Barroom Heroes will be some sort of slice of something tonight…. #LocalFlavor.

*Rumored* participants:
1) Eric Esshallop (Buffa’s Bar & Restaurant’s chef, renowned for being “comparatively sane and articulate”)
2) The one and only Michael Darby (renowned for the opposite) [possibly with offspring]
3) Former Lydia Lunch bass player Lucky Joe (Last seen drinking adult beverages at BMC, days ago.)
4) The one and only, larger than life Judy Hill (Ooh Poo Pah Doo, b!tchez) [possibly with her band]
5) Singer-songwriters Patrick Cooper and Natasha Sanchez (with their respective conversation-forcing acoustic music machines)
6-11) Whoever else stumbles in from the 6th ward, St. Bernard Parish, a brief but bright late 70s no-wave scene that flourished in New York City, and wherever the hell else in between.

I have no idea what’s going on tonight, and neither will you. Buckle up! 102.3 WHIV FM

(P.S. You’ll hear some of The Dandy Warhols, Aurora Nealand’s original Monocle music, Bob Dylan, and Shovels and Rope if I have my way, but who really knows whose way is being had tonight.)

I couldn’t find this playlist anywhere, just a bunch of pictures and the note: “A smorgasbord of live music, marriage proposals, hilarious stories, and unintelligible shrieking.”

Oh wait and Patrick Cooper shared this reflection:

“So it’s been two days since Natasha Sanchez and I showed up at the radio station 102.3 WHIV FM to appear on the show Musicians, Mentors, and Barroom Heroeshosted by Journalist/Poet/Possum Wrangler Laura DeFazio. I’m still processing all that took place. I got to see a few familiar faces (the Incandescent Singer Judy Hill of Ooh Poo Pah Doo Bar fame) and met some new very cool folks as well: Chef/Bon Vivant Eric Ess, Guitar Slinger Dwain Red Tyler and the Washboard Legend Windex Pete. There was music, mayhem, silly quips and even an on air marriage proposal (I was not involved in that)! Natasha led a sing along of her song about being stalked by a Soccer Mom. Just another Sunday in NOLA…In this photo taken by Natasha I have the honor of jamming with Dwain and Windex. Thanks to all for the memories.”
