PLAYLIST Ep. 14: Singer Songwriter Night Pt. Deux
1. “Momentum” – Lonesome Leash, one of my fave lyricists. (“Sometimes bridges build, they build themselves, no blood no sweat no tears. You just look ahead, and the way is clear.”)
*Despite what Shawn Williams & I were babbling to you about later, this is not a song about Habitat For Humanity.
2. “Darling Darling” – Tasche De La Rocha (LIVE) Get excited for her upcoming album ‘Gold Rose’! & the David Lynch Ball at One Eyed Jacks this Friday.
3. “Leave My Bones Out” – Tasche de la Rocha (LIVE)
4. “Louisiana” – Kenny Claiborne (LIVE) One of my faves from the Apple Barrel, Checkpoints, Frenchmen environs. Also happy birthday to Linda Cassidy, radio lady/checkpoints lurker/wonderful human being extraordinaire!
5. “Growing Old in the Digital Age” – Kenny Claiborne (LIVE) When ya spend all ya wishes on a pony…
6. “The Crave” – Tom McDermott Caught a lovely, cozy performance featuring him and vocalist Nayo Jones just before going on air. In addition to being a pianee genius, Tom’s a great cultivator of the local music community, bringing different folks together with a lot of infectious positive energy. Much admiration! And what a voice on Jones!
7. “Witness” – Jamie Lynn Vessels (LIVE) Angry songs, yes! (We do enough laughing/crying in this station. Knives out!)
8. “Fool Me Twice” – Jamie Lynn Vessels (LIVE) (& a good ol’ fashion cheatin’ song)
9. “Another Night Gone Wrong” – Jon Hatchett (LIVE) Trying out some universally-relatable new material.
10. “You Can’t Regret What You Don’t Remember” – Jon Hatchett (LIVE) cue: in-studio discussion r.e. veracity of this statement. (conclusion: we always remember, so…?)
11. “Feelin’ So Unnecessary” – Dave Ferrato
12. “Dream Crusher” – Greg Schatz
13. “All You Need” – Lynn Drury
14. “Heartbreak and Cocaine” – Andre Lovett (LIVE) Catch him at the Apple Barrel on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm, a time of the day/week where the Apple Barrel still resembles the Apple Barrel when it was still the Apple Barrel (before my day), or so they say. (As opposed to somewhere you go on a Friday night to pick up 10-15 drunk air bnb frat bros wearing beads & matching polo shirts. Perpetually wondering: how do they find so many of themselves to go on vacation with?)
15. “Train Song” – Andre Lovett (LIVE)
16. “What if I Stayed” – Shawn Williams (LIVE) First album is “with the master”, look out!
17. “Chop” – Shawn Williams (LIVE) Inspired by eating authentic chop suey, on a scooter, in the desert. Or something.
18. “Wouldn’t Be Right” – Jamie Lynn Vessels (LIVE) Lovely little folksy tune
19.“Southern Belle” – Andre Lovett (LIVE)
20. “Way Down in the Cut” – Jon Hatchett (LIVE)
21. “I Will Never Be Alone” – Alex McMurray
22. “Home Was A Feeling” – Lonesome Leash
